Evee & Herodotus

Another bit of concept art from way back when. My original idea had been for Evon (and hence Evee) would be taller than Herodotus. I mean, she is a bear and he is a rat. Britt really didn’t like that idea. She wanted Evon to have more of the lost child about her, which would be tough to do if she stood half a head taller than her bodyguard.
Never am I one to say I dislike the scenario of a woman being taller/bigger than a man. 😀 But I think it was the correct choice to go with Evon being younger-looking and smaller. Gives her more of a sense of vulnerability to play up the drama, and for her relationship with Hero to work off of.
Plus, it lets people underestimate her more, heh. (Evee, too.)
I guess Brittany was in a major Disney art frame when she was drawing these early pictures. Evon looks like a warrior Rebecca, and Hero is one of those rat’s from the Secret of Nymh. Though the art is still interesting.
Actually the last several art updates have belonged to Mr Wax, not me 🙂
Sorry about that Brittany. Though the rest of my comment is true still in my opinion.
Zebra Girl is on hiatus Nov-Dec, Commander Kitty hasn’t updated since June, Lackadaisy since, I think, March (main story, that is), Broken Plot Device is dead, and the completion of Digger in March 2011 still leaves a hole in my Tuesdays and Thursdays. But at least Evon still looks alive. So…PLEASE get well soon!
DMFA is still strong as is House of LSD. And Twokinds is doing double strips too. Give Mr. Wax and Brittany their props and we all hope she will bring “Da Bear’s” back soon. Get better as fast as you can Brittany. We miss you and your comic.
