I don’t know, seems less like they are being hunted by different monsters at this point, and more like they’re being herded and having avenues of escape cut off.

That whole scaly body in front of the one of only two exits of the cave reeks of intent on the monster’s part. I wonder if there might be some kind of puppet master controlling the monsters as they get closer to there destination?
