Oh, I get it. He’s trying NOT to show how much he cares for her.
Sorry, Hero. You have failed
But many men have failed in that manner. It’s no problem.
Wait….when did she become part of the Dent family? O.o I know she has her own castle and everything, now, but that just makes her a titled Lady (assuming it means she also owns land, and such), but how does that make her a part of the Dent family line? It makes her eligible to marry Hero, sure, but I must have missed the part where you told me she was already a part of his family.
Not that her being a part of his family now means she can’t marry him, but I’m a bit confused as to when she became part of his family.
That would work, except he doesn’t say she’s an honorary member of his family, or that she’s like a member, he says she is a member. So that’s what’s throwing me off a bit. And she doesn’t seem surprised that he’s saying she is, just that she got that gift from him, so I’m wondering what happened.
Not that I mind, in fact I like the turn this plot is taking, I’m just taken a little by surprise. x3
in some of the various iterations of the fuedal system in europe, family retainers held much the same importance as blood relatives, and were considered family for just about anything but succession.
which would make Belvidere part of the Dent family by dint of his high position as retainer. presumably Hero arranged to have Evon listed as a Retainer as well, or perhaps as a charge of the Dent family in some fashion (someone not a retainer but also not related by blood)
it was not uncommon for nobility to take in the families of other lesser nobles in such fashion.
True, but none of that was mentioned in the comic (or as a note outside of it), so I was sorta blindsided when he said she was a part of his family. x3 All of a sudden we get him saying she’s a member of his family, when nothing was shown or mentioned previously to lead up to that, so I was caught off guard by this page.
Heartstring #324: *tugged*
Bawwww! ~3<~~
I just love the depth of the characters in this comic, and it's so well laid out. It'd be s joy to have the completed work as a print novel someday.
If there is ANYONE who finds ANYTHING wrong with this, I’d like to have a word or two with you.
??? Oh! Hello, Evee. How are you doing today?
A word or two? Gulp!
well, I have said more than that already
GRIN
Why that strange look in panel 6?
It’s almost as if he thinks THIS is Evee.
Oh, I get it. He’s trying NOT to show how much he cares for her.

So does that mean they are married now?
Clothesplosion in count of ten.
So we see Hero is weak against Feels.
Gotta love a good leaping glomp-hug. 😀
Many feels were had.

I think Hero’s implying it as an honorary thing, because of all they’ve been through.
That would work, except he doesn’t say she’s an honorary member of his family, or that she’s like a member, he says she is a member. So that’s what’s throwing me off a bit. And she doesn’t seem surprised that he’s saying she is, just that she got that gift from him, so I’m wondering what happened.

That is precisely the same thing I have been wondering about. did i miss something? When was she adopted into his family?
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed this.

Add my name to the list of people utterly baffled by Hero’s line.
An Hero scored a touchdown :3
There you go, Tarne. Mushiness *and* hugs.
I am content. For now.
Glad her foolishness is over. but it was worth it in the end I guess XD
