Oops, though it looks like Hero it down to bare knuckles and what ever is laying on the ground near by.
Though I would not be remotely surprised is a certain butler were to make a unexplained, though very timely, appearance with Heros’ sword as well as a few extras for himself, to join in the fray!
In a world with magical items, I would think a certain butler would have in his possession some item that indicates magic being used. If only covering the estate grounds. Still, unless a certain butler has teleportation magic at their disposal it would still take precious minutes to get from the castle to wherever our lovely couple went for a secluded picnic.
Here we have Evon channeling the collective rage of all of the fans for interrupting a lovely moment.
Wait, did Hero reach for a blade that was not there? Or did he see someone, or something, attacking from the side? o_O
It looks like he went to draw the sword he usually wears.
A sword is not exactly a fashion accessory that one takes to a nice picnic… 🙂

And she’s pissed. And Hero has no sword… really Hero? You know you should carry it religiously with the way you guys run into trouble…
That means poor Evon is going to have to do most of the fighting…
Not to say she won’t be perfectly fine.
The last time we saw Hero with a sword he ended up killing Venir (a former ally and friend). It could be that misplaced guilt has clouded his common sense. I’ve noticed that during the arc of Evon’s recovery he has not carried any weapons (that I can see).
I agree that Evon is perfectly capable of defending herself and that Maximus does not stand a chance.
Good catch! I didn’t even notice that until now. You could be right, he could be lamenting Ven’s fate and as such he has shied from his blade. Too bad now that the one he loves is in conflict he now finds himself wanting it more than ever.
No doubt she’s learned more than a few things since their last encounter. Not to mention her fights with Venir and that anti-mage panther guy hopefully instilled a few tips on how to improve.
And we get to see how good Hero is at unarmed combat, heh.
At the risk of sounding crude, is it my imagination or does Hero seem to be sporting… ahhh… an uncontrolled physiological response to what just got interrupted?
You need not mince words here or use euphemism…but I do think you’re seeing things… 🙂
Things seem to be turned around here. Hero suddenly finds himself running the wrong way, and Evon appears to be on the receiving end of the blast she just sent out. This is going to be interesting.
Hero wasn’t running, but reaching for his sword.
Evon didn’t send out a blast, she put up her magic shield to reflect a blast.

My concern is that I haven’t seen her practice her magic, unless it’s been happening “off camera.” I do hope she took her encounter with that witch hunter as a warning to focus on her magical training. She really needs to learn to access her powers to their fullest.
