Okay, exposition time. Yeah, I know those aren’t very exciting. But you do have to do them from time to time. We’ve avoid them as much as possible with flash back and such, but some times, in the intrest of time, a character just has to explane things.
and you know that the villein always does his monologue just before he gets his ass handed to him. hopefully by hero but i have a feeling hero is going to burst in and get beat down and evon will lose it and thrash maximus at least sending him scurrying back to the hole he crawled out off
Honestly, though we now learn the details, this kind of thing should’ve been pretty obvious to her. She wields some _powerful_ mojo, and the evil mages want to have her on their side, or as their tool. Or hell, as their battery.
Will be interesting to see just exactly what they wanted to do with her, though, and how Ferneris’ plans differ from what Maximus wants to do.
actually, it makes me wonder 2 things- 1: how powerful WOULD she be if she did utilize her gift properly, and more immediately, 2: would it be affected by a simple anti-magic collar, or too powerful for it to contain?
I made that observation earlier when the magic suppression collar was first mentioned. Evon, unfortunately, at this time can only utilize all of her power when she’s angry, kind of like another magic user in another webcomic I follow.
Some good points were brought up, here, but I’ll add mine to the list anyway. I know people have wondered ho powerful she’d be if she utilized her gift properly ~nods at Golden~, but what I want to know is, how powerful would she be if she truly lost it? You know, totally, utterly and completely lost control of herself?
With the kind of power she wields (my character Korin has roughly the same abilities, though he taps into the planet’s energy field; his powers have nothing to do with magic), she could be a walking Planet Killer and not even realize it.
I’ve always wondered about this. Is it wise to tell your opponent about strengths they may not know they have? Maximus is telling Evon how she can defeat/destroy him. Who here REALLY thinks she won’t at least attempt it?

I would think mages would be very good at ex-plane-ing things. 😀
it’s ALWAYS about power.
Achievement unlocked: “15g Malevolent Monologue”
What’s a evil villian without a decent monologue? 😉

And this is why he’ll be burnt to a cinder while she’s still strapped to the table.
Now that IS a elevation about Evon.
*Relevation* is what I meant. Damn typos.
Ah, yes, typos… I wouldn’t know about those… 😀
