With that ‘little’ act of appreciation from Evon, will win her a great deal of loyalty and support from the ‘staff’. Even more so once Belvidier is involved!
Not British myself, so any Brits feel free to correct me. My understanding is that Boxing Day originated way-back-when Nobles/wealthy would give their servants a box of gifts/money/leftovers from the feast/etc to take home to their families as a thanks for being away from their family to serve the nobles on Christmas Day and/or a general thanks from Noble to Servant for a year of good/loyal service.
“We, the insane, do the impossible for the ungrateful. …..and occasionally booze.”
So take it from a Staffer, a show of appreciation goes a loooonng way. Especially for Security. I’ve never worked that branch of Staff, but those guys are always getting the short end of the stick.
I do work security and I can confirm this. More often than not our services are underrated. Especially with those people protecting property. Most times we are considered to just be sitting around. Sure, there are a number of black sheep in this line of work. And for some of them it certainly is true, but enerally speaking Security staff take their job pretty seriously – which includes doing patrol works even in the foulest of weathers and frequently putting our health on the line in doing so. Just so that the employer can rest assured their property is being looked after. And still we are being paid almost insultingly little. Actual bodyguards sometimes get paid decently, but generally speaking payment is shit in this line of work. I just do it because I am enjoying my work.
WHAT? Show appriciarion for the commoners? You have a lot to learn about running a castle missy. Next thing you know they might actually expect to be paid.
Cause them servants have worked so hard in their life for Hero that a little appreciation fro them will boost morale fo them. ;3
After all you don’t want to upset the servents.
Never!
GASP! someone thought bout the staff…
on a side note,, if they liked her before,, they are gonna love her now..

So Evon introduces Boxing Day to her world.
Her name will live forever.
Actually, I was thinking that she introduced Christmas gift giving.
Oh, BTW, as an American, I have NO idea what Boxing Day is all about. Could you, or some other person from the British Commonwealth, explain it to me?

As I understand it, it is like the dies Saturnireduced to a single day. A time when masters and servants switched roles.
I have a Con Staff shirt that would fit, here:

Wonderful idea from Evon!
You go, girl!
Now they just need to coordinate the date with the servants — and their families (if they aren’t servants as well).
… and moves like THIS are why Belvidier is proud to “serve”. 😛 (Awesome plot twist!)
I do wonder what our dear butler bunny is going to make of this.
Um, isn’t it time for a new page?
Let us throw a party for the servants, and hope we get invited.
