Hero’s probably hoping that, left alone, Venir will get to the point of his visit: preferably before he says something that goes beyond the bounds of friendship, like an open insult to Evon. True, calling her ‘kid’ and teasing her about that isn’t nice, but it could still be considered teasing at this point, however much in bad taste it is. If Venir ever went so far as an actual insult, though, I’m sure Hero would definitely speak up on her behalf. And if things got too insulting, then Hero would put a stop to it.
Well, we are talking about an individual with all the social grace of a brick going through a window. Venir has always lacked tact, not to mention he’s a womanizing bastard of a mercenary.
Why does Evon’s face in the last panel make me believe she’s thinking:
“Countdown to ass whipping… 3… 2… 1…”
This man is going to face some wrath. Yes.
Also, I imagine Hero isn’t winning any points with Evon for letting Venir get away with being so dismissive of her.

That’s a look in her eyes as if she’s conjuring up a death spell or something.
In Evon VS Venir I am putting my money on Evon.
I’d double down on that bet.
i kind of want to see him begging her not to beat the everliving shit out of him
Methinks that the only reason Venir is still upright is because he’s Hero’s friend/partner.
