I agree, he’s putting duty first. We disagree about whether it should remain that way. To me, only the question is whether Mr. Wax can write good romance…
Someone needs to take a bag of nickels and beat some sense into him. He really os starting to look as dim as Gourry. All we need now is for him to eat orc meat and think it’s Dragon Cuizene.
Thing is, Felvis asked him pretty much the same question he asked Evon the last time they were at the academy. Whereas he was able to break through to Evon, Hero avoided answering the question. The fact that he’s being that dense AGAIN tells me he’s doing it on purpose. He’s obviously been around the block enough times to know when a woman is interested, even as passive-aggressively as Evon has shown it.
Of course, there’s a reason why the TV Tropes pages for Selective Obliviousness, Oblivious To Love and Everyone Can See It are so large.
Felvis and Aerith… playing matchmakers?!
=O.O=
OH! Clever girl! That’s why she was hanging all over Hero, to make Evon jealous enough to do something to grab Hero’s attention, and with them splitting up like this Felvis can use logic to deflect some of Evon’s emotional state, while Aerith adds emotion to Hero’s typically stoic mentality.
For all of you saying he is dense, I assure you he is not. He was hired to do job and that is to protect Evon. He is focused solely on her protection and not pay attention to her emotions. Perhaps when it is over they can focus on a relationship.
He’s both dense and honor bound. See, he was originally hired to protect her, then developed enough feelings to want to continue doing so. But he’s too dense to realize just how much she likes him because she is generally so shy about it. And he’s too chivalrous to make a move or say something without knowing for sure how she’ll respond, and she’s too scared of being hurt to say something without knowing how he’ll respond.
That’s just my opinion anyway.
Ohh! This is getting juicy! *grabs popcorn*
hero is either playing dumb (which i highly doubt) or he’s dense as hell XD
He is too focused on his duty to protect Evon, and that is how it should remain.

…and now it’s Hero’s turn.
Hero’s not being all jealous.
I’m talking about the “pep talk” about their relationship.
. . . say it . . . sssaayyy iiiiitttt . . .
He needs to be hit with the Clue x 4 the same as Evon!
Indeed! I am amused…
Dense as a neutron star.

I see an awkward moment coming :3

GOD I LOVE THIS COMIC!!!
More like “Dutch Uncle/Auntie” lol

As Felvis asked Evon AND Hero: If Hero is just doing his job, why is he still around, as the job he was hired for was long completed?
That makes sense right up until you consider how jealous he got back when Evon was going out with her brother.
Though I could see Hero being a complete moron and saying she’s like a sister to him or something, god I hope he doesn’t pull that one out.
