Twisting the truth just a bit Cleo? As an uber bitch you know that pushing political strings too much for murder for getting a rival away can also blow in your face. Hope her troubles multiply ten fold!
One of the nobles in the region is a spellcaster and member of The Cabal, she even invited him to the shindig back in chapter 7. Cleo probably learned as much as she knows here just from her social contacts.
Probably through Shakar The Manipulator, secret Cabal member and wealthy Pridelands noble, and magic trafficker. (see the Character Bio page)
I imagine he’s probably the supplier where Cleo gets all her contraceptive potions from, so she’d keep him as a social contact for info/knowledge of things magical, such as Evon. And being a Cabal member he’d have all sorts of juicy info on Evon he’d be willing to trade cash and favors from the daughter of his local King.
Look at the rankings of nobility, sometime.
In some circles, Dukes are about as high as you can get without actually being ROYALTY.
In fact, in some kingdoms, princes have “Duke” titles in combination with their other (more royal) titles
I was referring to the actual title that he was stated as having not any real-world title. Also, I was replying to Catsnightmare’s comment in which he(?) says that Cleo is the daughter of the local King. I was merely pointing that that Brittany had said that Cleo’s father was a Duke.
i’m guessing that Cleo is secretly a member of the Cabal…not a magical one of course, but she is royalty. no doubt having a royal in their pocket is an advantage for the Cabal, magical or not. and when that’s revealed Hero will have all the reason he needs to break off the engagement. who knows? maybe even the king is part of it?
I wonder if he’s gonna get close to taking out Evon, find out the truth, and come back at Cleo for lying/almost making him murder an innocent. He seems to have some sense of personal honor.
So we’ll see him decide to kill someone because she MIGHT get recruited by a group of evil mages and cause havoc rather than target the actual evil mages who’re doing actual evil.
Actually, I did from the very start. She’s never really smiled, especially at Hero. She’s got a pink nose. Her eyes almost always seem to be narrowed rather than open. Now, that I’ve said that, why would I want to look below her neck? Oh, you’re referring to her bosom? Too big to be attractive to me.
That’s actually more of the truth than I thought she knew, let alone she would share.

Just who is Cleo’s source the she know all this?

“social contacts” = she wanted to see if he was magic between the sheets.
Shakar is his name, he’s on the Character Bio page.
What a bitch!!
WHOA!!!!
I asked last page how she knew Evon’s potential.
I repeat the question… SERIOUSLY

I believe Cleo’s father is a Duke, not a king.

To call Cleo manipulative would be a slight understatement. In fact, I believe her picture is in the dictionary as a definition for the word.
So we’ll see him decide to kill someone because she MIGHT get recruited by a group of evil mages and cause havoc rather than target the actual evil mages who’re doing actual evil.
Yeah. That sounds about right.
In the last two panels. The way the light shines on the fur is a nice artistic touch. Bravo.
Cleo should be drawn faceless from now on.
To be fair how many notice anything above her neck anyway? 😉
Some of us do….we can appreciate a clever, manipulative villainess. It is just bonus points, that she happens to be attractive.
