Thought it was a rock at first myself.
Likely its just a round house kick, Aikido focuses on defeating your enemy by subduing them without smashing them up.
Actually, that wasn’t her at all. That was Hero (or someone we don’t know about, but I”m guess Hero). The way she reacted was like someone who was surprised, and the way she’s holding her arms up suggest a defensive move; meaning she didn’t know that blow was coming.
I knew that Hero would likely track down Venir after a bit of thought, given what he was spouting off at Hero about moments before, and Venir shouting like that certainly made it easier for Hero to understand what was going on.
I’m officially stating that Hero and Venir’s friendship is at an end, here. I really doubt they’ll be all ‘buddy buddy’ after this, and even if they wanted to reconcile it would take a lot of doing; something Venir won’t want to do after this, I’m sure, given his extremely poor opinion of Evon and what Hero just did to him. Now in his mind, if Hero ever dropped Evon and went back to being his partner, then I”m sure he’d ‘forgive’ him and move on; but we all know that will never happen.
So either Venir will go off in a huff, talking about how he’ll get even or how Hero will regret his decision (meaning he’ll report where they are just to spite him), or he’ll just go off in a huff. I’m guessing the former will happen, though.
I’m doubting that the huff thing will be as uneventful. And Venir did show up with the whole “We can make a pile o’ gold!” scheme. Venir has always struck me as more of the base motivated mercenary archtype. Considering Hero’s penchant to follow what is right and “honorable” I’d say this pretty much deep sixes their association, and I’ll call it that as a friendship would have implied a cerain amount of flexibility on Venir’s part.
Yeah…been there, done that.
As for the blow, I’m thinking it was one hell of a hay-maker.
The color of that motion-blur would seem to suggest one of Hero’s sleeves. Venir’s probably going to be sent packing, here, but likely he’ll wind up leading the baddies to them in hopes of payment, and for spite at being “betrayed”.
Still have hope Venir will wind up redeeming himself, though, even if it is the last thing he does.
As for the incentive, I hope we do get to hear the gist of this new comic venture, so we can put these characters into context. X)
It’s coming 🙂 We just finished a rough outline for the first volume. We’ll do at least one more overview of the outline before we start on the script
*ahum*…. bwahahahaha, totally deserved. I’m hoping Venir isn’t stupid enough to draw a weapon and have a go at Hero, but he’s been showing an incredible amount of stupid.
Well he got what he deserved, and if this means that Venir is going to be Hero’s enemy, well so be it. I think Evon saw what was coming as she seemed to be looking past Venir sorta like behind him, but didn’t expect what happened next. Great comic, by the way and Evon is really cute and pretty, wouldn’t mind taking her home with me either.
So incredibly tacky and rude, he’s lucky that’s all he got under the circumstances. Nothing he’s seen of her to that point could remotely justify that kind of behavior, he must have some major issues with females to go off on her like that.
Memo: DON’T mess with Evon. She doesn’t even NEED magic (though someone on the receiving end of that karate/aikido move might think it is).
You go girl!

I’m 100% saying that was hero. Hero did tell him to drop it.
Now he did it.

well your yelling it Evon I’m not surprized Hero came to in vestigate
Can’t say he didn’t have it coming, because let’s face it, he deserved it. Poking around places he shouldn’t.
