Shakar: “Mirror, mirror on the wall who’s the fairest— oops, wrong lines!”
Sorry, I couldn’t resist, I kept thinking about that while I was inking this page ๐
Wednesday talk of music sort of reminded me of something I wanted to bring up a little while ago. What song/instrumental reminds you most of the theme of the comic?
For me it’s “You Raise me up” by Lena Park. I originally heard it while watching the anime Romeo x Juliet and when I heard the song I instantly thought of Evon.
Sorry, no new incentive today, but don’t forget to vote anyway (please ^_^!)
*gasp* You mean I can has first comment? I’ve never been first for anything before in my life. XD
Okay, back to the story. The plot is certainly growing thicker now. Is he saying some kind of magic incantation? Because if so, Evon and Hero are going to have a lot more than a hissy fit-throwing Cleo on their hands very shortly.
Okay, before anyone says anything, that was a little immature of me to make mention of being first to comment, but I just HAD to make a joke out of it.
I’m guessing that the mirror is a communications device and that he’s reporting to Somebody Evil.
Either a communication device, or a transportation device, or a scrying device. You never know with magic.
No problem for our intrepid adventurers. Hero slugs bad guy, Belvedere throws Cleo at him as a distraction, Evon magic nukes the pair…Problems solved! ๐
As for music…that’s a tough one as I prefer a lot of instrumental stuff, though I can see some ‘Dragonforce’ for a lot of the action scenes, there’s some music by the group ‘2002’ that would be fitting for Evon and Hero when they get close and have those ‘moments’. And maybe a little ‘Dark Moor’ and Ray lynch thrown in.
Ah yes, Latin. Favourite language of wizards, monks, and scholars everywhere.
Why have I been reading all of Shakar’s lines in Shere Khan’s voice from The Jungle Book? Hm, evil, manipulative male tiger… nah, no connection there. ๐
Obviously totally late to this discussion, but the first song that came to mind actually came out in 2012, so it’s not too far out of sync. The Veldt by deadmau5. The mix of technology references and traveling through the wilderness just fits, imo. It’s a fairly chill track, but has that EDM bass line that keeps things moving along at a good pace. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvtNS6hbVy4
