With the end of this latest chapter I’ll be taking a small break the play catch up on everything else I’m doing. Evon will return April 1st!

Gotta love a smart minion that knows when to keep his head down.
Congrats on the Cut Loose gig! I hope it doesn’t add too much more weight to your workload.
“Do you even SEE these gray hairs?” — Warrant Officer Massey
I like Bob. But I have a soft spot for pragmatic minions…
There is something to be said about having a jaded leader in charge. For one, they are usually under no illusions as to their own mortality, which keeps their wits sharp. And also they are not as prone towards overestimating their own abilities or underestimating those of their opponents compared to the young rascal right there.
To quote the smartest goon ever upon him spotting Batman:
“Anything in there?”
“Nope.”
Self-preservation Level Up!
He’s got a point, even if they found them they’d end up crippled or dead.
Bob is your basic veteran NCO. “Listen up, guys. We aren’t here to win any medals. Just do your job and we all come back alive.”
I like to see smart cannon fodder (see “Forlorn Hope” from the Napoleonic Wars, Wellington division, as per the BBC TV series with Seán Bean).
The TV series (based on a series of books) was called “Sharpe’s {something}”
The mission wasn’t to find them, it was to search that house for them: they searched, they found the house empty, mission accomplished, bonus being they all still alive and healthy to report back
Some people are experienced enough to know when they don’t have yet the capacity and skills to take on dangerous adversaries. Lord Maximus has a good point that allows him to take solace in not getting murdered by people who can end his squad without much effort. I get what the young dog is saying, but what can you do against experienced individuals who don’t hold back in a fight to the death, and you don’t have the skills to fight them off? Glory does you no good if you get killed in the attempt. Even death means something if there’s a justified purpose to give your life. The young dog is inexperienced to keep that in mind, so he should count his blessings that he doesn’t become even a witness to a bloodbath.
Evon is coming back April 1st? This better not be a joke like South Park did with “Not without my anus.”
